[opensuse-factory] RC2 zypper dup What are the new packages?
12.2 RC2 I ran zypper DUP yesterday and it updated around 190 packages. I did it again just now and there are another 174 today including having to accept a 12.2 licence agreement that includes a typo. Today's stuff includes new packages such as samba 3.6.7 and a new kernel 3.4.6-1.10.1 Is this the GM? If there is no bug report there is no typo. ;) You know the game. Please file a defect report and as usual report the issue ID back to this list as a clickable URL. If possible attach a unified diff (-u) that corrects the typo to identify the issue as precise as possible and allowing us to eliminate it. For the other raised questions I expect one from the release team to answer. Cheers, Lars -- Lars Müller [ˈlaː(r)z ˈmʏlɐ] Samba Team + SUSE Labs SUSE Linux, Maxfeldstraße 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany

2.2 Update channels are filling already - and add one point in time the 12.2 repos will also get updated to the GM. Not sure which of these two hit you. If you run Firefox 15 now, it comes from the update channels... Andreas Hi Yes, I have 15.0. I have this series of repos installed e.g.
http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.2 and http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/12.2/repo/oss I didn't put them there, I installed from: openSUSE-DVD-Build0091-i586.iso and the zypper dup changed them from the 1.5 series What version of openSUSE do I have? Hi Yes, I have 15.0. I have this series of repos installed e.g.
You should have 12.2-nonoss as well as update repository.
And non-oss as well if you need it. Yes, those are the 12.2 repos, everything is fine, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger aj@{suse.com,opensuse.org} Twitter/Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn,Jennifer Guild,Felix Imendörffer,HRB16746 (AG Nürnberg) GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hi OK, I'll add those. Does that mean I already have the GM due later this week? If so, I can save myself the job of grabbing the 12.2 ISO and upgrading. Is that correct? No, you might still get some packages, you're on RC2+ Updates. No need to grub the 12.2 ISO for that system, just run zypper dup on those two channels, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger aj@{suse.com,opensuse.org} Twitter/Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn,Jennifer Guild,Felix Imendörffer,HRB16746 (AG Nürnberg) GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Andreas Just to confirm that those two channels are: oss and non-oss Just do a zypper dup on Wednesday. Yes? It would save a lot of trouble if so. Thanks, L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Remember that the default zypper runs with --recommends turned on, so it is not usual for it to install way more packages than anticipated. `zypper dup --no-r` can do wonders at times. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks My point is that I'm satisfied with what I've got. I just wanted to know what version I'd actually got now and to point out the typo in the: LICENSE AGREEMENT openSUSER 12.2 (sic) and if that confirms that I now do indeed have 12.2 and not the RC. What strange console font do you have? It says "openSUSE®" - and it's not impossible that your font displays ® as R - but it would be insane. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

It is more related to the unimap used, rather than the font. For example, /usr/share/kbd/unimaps/ruscii.uni:0x52 U+0052 U+00ae This essentially means that '®' gets mapped to 'R'. The same occurs with 'Ë' which gets mapped to 'E' on display for cp437 fonts. It's all safe and sound. No typo. Just the limited space of the VGA console. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Good question. I don't know how to find out but I do know that I can only use my Spanish keyboard wysiwyg in graphics mode. How can I change the console font to something which shows all the characters available?
