[opensuse-factory] NetworkManager policy broken after recent Tumbleweed update

Hello, I updated my system and now NM applet tells me "not authorized" on pretty much any operation. It automatically connects to pre-configured WiFi but disconnecting, reconnecting, configuring, etc. is forbidden. I looked at the policy file shipped with NM and it is quite permissive. [opensuse-factory] Failure in building post 4.18 kernels on Tumbleweed

When building kernel v4.18-10664-g866130e7ae47 on TW, I get a failure due to missing libopcodes-2.31.so. On Leap 15.0, the kernel build finds the shared object file in /usr/lib64, but not in TW. I was able to fix the problem by linking the file in /usr/lib64 to an entry in /usr/lib. After the 8/18 tumbleweed upgrade, both Chrome and Firefox fail to come up, the well known message "No GSettings schemas are installed on the system" seems to be present for google-chrome. Might have something to do with the gtk2/gtk3 upgrade. [opensuse-factory] Konqueror - speeddial and run once

Hi After looking at the kdebugs list, there only seems to only be a few bugs from 2018. Is konq still being developed? Is there a way for Konq to open multiple websites in multiple tabs when starting as per other browsers? i can't seem to find a way to do it. I've tried "open bookmarks" but that wasn't what i wanted. Another issue is that I can only open konq once. If I close it, i have to log out and log back in to run it again. Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers, Again I have to span two weeks worth of Tumbleweed snapshots. But I’m somewhat happy about that, as otherwise, I’d only have negative things to report this week. Again, we’re having issues with openQA. Since we published snapshot 0813 to QA, we could not get any reliable test results – and if I can’t get any results I can trust, I prefer not to send out ‘possibly working’ snapshots to you, the users of Tumbleweed. The QA team is busy getting this back under control, but so far we could not get an estimate as to when we can expect our openQA instance to be fully functional again. In order to keep a solid base for debugging, I also decided to stop checking in to Factory and pushing new snapshots to QA: this would only be another moving target, making it even more difficult on the team debugging it. But, as I said, I’m spanning two weeks again, so there are at least some snapshots I can report on that have been published. Namely the 6 snapshots 0803, 0804, 0806, 0807, 0808 and 0812. The noteworthy changes delivered in those snapshots are: * KDE Plasma 5.13.4 * Linux kernel 4.17.12 & 4.17.13 * Tracker 2.1.0 * PHP 7.2.8 * Mesa 18.1.5 * firewalld 0.6.0 While stopping checkins, obviously, the backlog is growing a bit, which means there are more things you can look forward to receive ‘soon’ * RPM packaging changes: the SUSE specific configuration is being moved to a separate package * binutils 2.31 * ncurses 6.1-20180707: breaks Xen (deprecations added, Xen builds with -Werror) * Usage of the new System Role selection instead of the legacy ‘desktop selection’ * Python 3.7 * KDE Applications 18.08.0 (release candidate currently in testing, will be delivered when final) * glibc 2.28; the split of libxcrypt causes some build failures * Linux kernel 4.17.14 & 4.18 * util-linux 2.32.1 – breaks systemd build (header changes, fixed upstream) Cheers, Dominique

[opensuse-factory] Proposal: Let's move to a more modern platform

Hi guys! First of all, sorry if this is not the correct list to post something like this. openSUSE has many mailing lists and some are very active. I, as a developer, must follow some to make sure I did not miss an important news. However, IMHO, mailing lists through e-mails are not that good anymore. It is very difficult to search for a message (if you did not archive everything, then you must rely on the on-line database), if you delete a message, reply to that thread is not very straightforward, etc. I am wondering why do we not change to a more modern platform created with this kind of discussion in mind? In Julia project, they setup a discourse (http://discourse.julialang.org). It turn out that it is very good. In my opinion, much better than mailing lists using e-mails. What do you think about this? Unfortunately I can't say when exactly this happened, but while I was updating a Win7 laptop today I tried to log into it via krdc and that no longer works. At first I thought it was related to the new firewalld, but apparently there's some problem with Xcb?
