Yesterday I updated my system, and the only way to start the graphics
is a older red only snapshot.
I made a check of the root file system and it appear ok:

I saw in OBS an unresolvable error message about JeOS package (1)
Does it need to add a Prefer: line in Project config ?

"have choice for systemd-sysvinit needed by powerpc-utils:

Hi there,
It seems that adding a VPN is no longer possible in the latest
tumbleweed (gnome) snapshot as the "Add" button never becomes
selectable.
This was definitely not the case at least until a few months back as I
was able to add the exact same configuration without any issue.
Is this a known bug and are there any known workarounds?

Hello all,
At the moment our UPS tools package [1] fails to build on Tumbleweed.
When I checked what's going on I found out there were missing texlive
packages thus I added them.
Yet even now the package fails to build with very helpful message of
"pdflatex failed Unexpected error occured" this is not really helpful.
I even tried to compare the output between Leap and TW (see
pdflatex.diff) but that does not show any traceable output either.
Anyone knows this stuff and maybe have suggestions how to make it more
verbose or how to right away fix it?
TIA
Tom

Dear All,
It is my intention to submit the following changes to the Xfce Pattern:
- add Menulibre (it's already part of Whisker Menu commands by default
but the package is missing)
- replace Leafpad with Mousepad (Mousepad is the default text editor
in all main Xfce systems)
- replace Evince with Xreader (part of X-Apps: fork of Evince with
menu-bar instead of CSD)
- replace Shotwell with Pix (part of X-Apps: fork of gThumb and has
more features than Shotwell for photo management)
- replace File-roller with Engrampa (part of MATE: fork of file-roller
with menu-bar instead of CSD)
- replace Totem with Parole (Parole is an Xfce app, thus more suitable
to the be included)
The suggestions above are for the use of native Xfce and also related
X-apps over Gnome apps which since the introduction of Client Side
Decoration (CSD), they don't integrate well with the look and feel of
Xfce, which does not use CSD system-wide. X-Apps were created by Linux
Mint as forks of Gnome GTK 3 apps, targeting Xfce, MATE and Cinnamon.
The core ideas for X-Apps are:
- To use modern toolkits and technologies (GTK3 for HiDPI support,
gsettings etc..)
- To use traditional user interfaces (titlebars, menubars)
- To work everywhere (to be generic, desktop-agnostic and distro-agnostic)
- To provide the functionality users already enjoy (or enjoyed in the
past for distributions which already lost some functionality)
- To be backward-compatible (in order to work on as many distributions
as possible)
Here is a good summary of what they are:
https://www.linuxmint.com/rel_sarah_cinnamon_whatsnew.php
All the mentioned apps are already part of the openSUSE distribution
if you wish to try them.
Best Regards,
Maurizio Galli (MauG)

Dear All,
I'd like to submit the icon theme "elementary-xfce" as package to Factory.
Elementary-xfce is an icon theme inspired by Tango and Elementary,
maintained with Xfce in mind, but it supports other desktops like
Gnome3 as well.
It is designed to integrate and complement the GTK theme "Greybird",
which is already part of the openSUSE distribution in both Leap and
Tumbleweed.
I've prepared a package that I maintain in X11:xfce/elementary-xfce
Upstream Shimmer Project: https://github.com/shimmerproject/elementary-xfce
Devel project: X11:xfce/elementary-xfce
Latest release: 0.13.1+20181112.git4a4d7c9f
License: GPL v2.0
Thank you all and cheers,
Maurizio Galli (MauG)

As appear on
https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Tumbleweed_installation
Tumbleweed is only for PowerPC and the buggy and insecure Intel microprocessors?
They are no versions of Tumbleweed for the microprocessors of the
company which developed the X86-64 instruction set? (AMD).
Remember, Suse was the first OS to support AMD64 with the new X86-64
instruction set, many years ago.
Now AMD presents the World’s First Processor with 32-core and 64
Threads and the World’s Most Powerful Desktop Processor in one, and
You have no mention to AMD in Tumbleweed.

in BPMDetect.cpp
* boo#1113134 -- out of date package
- Removed obsolete patch fix-buffer-overflow.patch
==== srt ====
- Add pkgconfig(zlib) BuildRequires: until openssl 1.1.1, zlib was

CMakeLists.txt:set (SSL_REQUIRED_MODULES "openssl libcrypto zlib")

==== virtualbox ====
Version update (5.2.18_k4.18.15_1 -> 5.2.20_k4.18.15_1)
Subpackages: virtualbox-guest-kmp-default virtualbox-guest-tools virtualbox-guest-x11
- Fix / simplify python3-virtualbox packages files section. Do not
rely on --record-rpm for any version of python, since we can't
use it across the band.
- Made changes requested in comments for request 646211.
1. Sustituted /usr/lib/python3.7/site-packages/ => %python3_sitelib
2. Reverted change that eliminated use of %{_tmppath}/SITE_FILES for Python 3.6
3. As vboxapisetup.py in Python 3.7 no longer accepts the --record-rpm switch,
SITE_FILES does not exist, and the individual files must still be listed.
- Make necessary updates so that VirtualBox will build with Python 3.7 - boo#1113894
Change kernel module code to build against the API changes in kernel 4.20 - This change
adds file "fixes_for_4.20.patch".
- Require(pre) virtualbox by the -qt package: otherewise it might
happen that virtualbox-qt is installed before virtualbox, which
then results in files being assigned to group 'root' instead of
'vboxusers', as the group is only created later.
- Version bump to 5.2.20 (released October 16 2018 by Oracle)
This is a maintenance release. The following items were fixed and/or added:
VMM: fixed task switches triggered by INTn instruction (bug #17979)

Networking: restore connectivity for guests bridged to host adapters that were unavailable temporarily (Windows hosts, bug #17090)

- Fix autostart of VMs, which is no longer handled by the vboxes.service.
A new routine "start_vms" is added to the start section of vboxdrv.sh,
which is called by vboxdrv.service. Files "vboxes.service", "vboxes.sh",
and "virtualbox-sysconfig.vbox" are deleted.
These changes are to satisfy bsc#1107769.
