[opensuse-factory] Firefox 56 vs XFCE

Dear openSUSE Tumbleweed users, I know, many of you are eagerly awaiting Firefox 56 on Tumbleweed - I know, because I am too We are getting close: FF 56 has actually been submitted and has been merged into 'The Factory' - But openQA detected some anomalies when FF is being run on top of XFCE (not sure if other DEs are affected, we test GNOME, KDE, LXDE and XFCE in openQA - XFCE is the only one showing this) The result looks something like this: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/502217#step/firefox/12 As you see, the about window is simply blank. One can argue that the about window is not 'business critical' (and I agree) - but I have absolutely no idea how well FF will behave for normal browsing there. The issue was neither observed on GNOME, KDE nor LXDE, where this is also tested. Problem: exim-4.86.2-4.2.x86_64 requires libldap-2.4.so.2()(64bit), but this requirement cannot be provided deleted providers: libldap-2_4-2-2.4.45-26.2.x86_64 Solution 1: deinstallation of exim-4.86.2-4.2.x86_64 Solution 2: keep obsolete libldap-2_4-2-2.4.45-26.2.x86_64 Solution 3: break exim-4.86.2-4.2.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/3/c] (c): Choosing solution 3 certainly does break exim - it won't start. So I have reverted to libldap-2_4-2-2.4.45-26.2.x86_64 and locked it. [opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed snapshot 20170928 problem

Since upgrading to the snapshot of the subject, I am unable to use to start any graphics application. For example, "kdesu yast" returns "Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyQXcbConnection: Could not connect to display :0". I get the same message when running the VirtualBox GUI. Firefox is unable to display any new pages; however, the program starts. My graphics driver is i915. In case it might be helpful, the output of "strace kdesu yast" is attached. Thanks, Larry

Hi list, So I'm suffering from g-s segfaults every so often, which sometimes result in putting user session or even whole system down (doesn't react to SysRq keys as well; yes, they are enabled). In order to provide useful bug report I'm supposed to provide at least a backtrace extracted from core dumps, right? It's so great to know we're already covered — core files are conveniently collected by systemd-coredump. Except, well, that's not the case for the gnome-shell: thanks to core size set to zero for this particular process (and its' parent gnome-session-binary; ), systemd-coredump refuses to dump its' core (see http://paste.opensuse.org/77024771). True, I am able to collect backtrace by manually attaching to gnome-shell by hand with gdb and actually telling it to show the backtrace; but honestly, this is tedious and g-s crashes much more often than I can afford attaching gdb again and again. In the meantime, googling the relevant parts of backtrace (https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=742663) revealed a twin brother of the crash of mine at https://retrace.fedoraproject.org/faf/reports/1729548/ (except version numbers: I've got 3.26 vs 3.24 in Fedora). It also implies core dumps of gnome-shell weren't disabled by upstream, but by openSUSE. Which poses the question: how can I have automated g-s core dumps back? And, for sake of curiosity, how and why were they even disabled at all? Hi, After last last weeks updates after firefox opens the screen says Fire fox does not know how to communicate with the server and asks if the Personal Security Manager is installed....also when Thunderbird opens it immediately closes. Opera does not even open... Konqueror seems ok.. Lokking around the internet tells me it may be openssl is the culprit because I cannot get a secure connection, Google https is my home page.. I have problems with getting all my Bluetooth audio device pairing and working when first paired, and these steps nearly always get them to work, so I was wondering whether there is a root cause that can be pinned down and fixed as a bug report. Device: Mee Audio Air-Fi Rumble Headphone 1. No sound when paired. 2. Open Audio and Video system settings module in KDE. 3. Wait for it to appear, and select Air-Fi Rumble in Device Preference > Audio Playback and click Test. 4. Test audio plays and now audio works. Device: Bluedio Wireless Headset 1. No sound when paired. 2. Device not activated in Audio and Video system settings module in KDE. 3. Select Audio Hardware Setup > Soundcard > Bluedio 4. Toggle Profile to A2DP Sink (device not activated with this selection, but will be with HSP/HFP!) 5. Device will still be greyed out in Device Preference. Unpair and pair device again. 6. Device will show up in Device Preference, but without audio. 7. Select Bluedio and press the Test button. 8. Test audio plays and now audio works. I am not sure why both devices are treated differently, but it is certain that the Air-Fi is the more expensive device. Thoughts?
