On the same system (this) to which http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kernel/2015-02/msg00014.html applies, which has 13.1, 13.2 and TW installations, both 13.2 and TW are generating $SUBJECT. To avoid them requires unplugging my mouse. On neither, due in part to the problem described in the kernel list thread, plus that 13.1 on it is (this) my main production server/desktop, have I started X yet. The messages (which I never remember how to capture with journalctl) describe (spurious) disconnects/connects that I have yet to encounter while booted to 13.1/3.16.7. I've not timed their frequency, as after the first few I started unplugging it for real each time I see such a message, and plug it in only when I get back to running X. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." hubiC is an online cloud data storage similar to Dropbox, but much cheaper with larger free amount of data. https://hubic.com/ They have open API, but they release and maintain official packages for Linux as binary-only. This is just a repackage for openSUSE. For now it is in https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/network/hubic If you will like it, it would be nice to get an exception and have it in openSUSE:Factory:NonFree, at least until an open software will be written. Otherwise it will be removed from the network repository as it violates OSS rules. [opensuse-factory] Tumbleweed - what is TW based on?

What is Tumbleweed based on? I was under the assumption that TW was based on oS 13.2 and that it was the "rolling version" of oS 13.2. But is it? If TW *is* based on 13.2 then why doesn't the list of Repositories in YaST show all the Community Repositories as in 13.2 but adjusted to read "......openSUSE_Tumbleweed"? If it *isn't" based on 13.2 then why couldn't the list of Repositories in YaST be made to show all the repos. for Tumbleweed anyway? Heck, someone download the latest massive 4.3GB DVD of Tumbleweed and then has no idea that there are repositories that should be installed to make it worth while to use. The instructions in https://en.opensuse.org/Tumbleweed are deficient and do no do justice to the software (or the community). I keep reading posts here after a new "daily" "2015xxyy" ISO of TW is released stating that this or that does not work or TW won't install et al.. (An aside: I installed yesterday 20150123 on my Lenovo laptop and have no problems with the network either cable or wi-fi.) Add to this the absence of any acknowledgement that there are repositories available for TW but which are not mentioned anywhere then TW becomes a "lame duck" from trying to make it a "rolling release" of the finest Linux distros around. [opensuse-factory] filesystem mess with btrf

Hi, I created multiple volumes with the intention to keep all /var stuff in one volume /boot separate, etc. I did this on Opensuse 13.2 in the same way I did on 12.3 only using btrf. What I did not do is setting up subvolumes, but somehow OpenSuse did making my efforts to separate volumes unsuccessful. [opensuse-factory] starting a shell right before reboot with systemd

I just booted from the partition with current Factory to the partition with 13.2. Somehow systemd deciced to start a fsck on all partitions. Before it once again wastes a few hours next time this happens it would be nice to detect the culprit. What is the easiest way to start a shell right before reboot, and another one right before the root filesystem is mounted? I guess the latter is a cmdline option for dracut, and the former requires a special service file. In the old days I would have done that with halt.local.
