[opensuse-factory] Backlight issues on Samsung netbooks

Good people, I've had a question on a Portuguese forum and a bug report on bugzilla[1] regarding a few issues with Samsung and backlight. Disabling 'Dim when idle' does fix the issue (alongside with a grub entry: acpi_backlight=vendor). I'm sure probably some people have run against this, and I've found some sources on github (Greg KH). I haven't checked the license of them, but... what would be the best way to grab a fix for this users (even if it's from an external repository)... For what I could found out, two things are needed: - samsung-backlight - samsung-tools. Anyone knows where's upstream for this so I can dig up a bit more... My google searches were somehow confusing and innefective. [opensuse-factory] Good statistics is a must have

I being a maintained of a big OBS project very much in need for a good statistics page which not only would sow the use of particular repositories, but also of the particular packages inside a repository. For example, I want to know which packages in KDE:KDE3 are extensively used and which were not used at all (so I could know which is to fix first). The kernel-source did not yet get updated with the rest of the packages, there's still only 3.2.6-7.1 available. [opensuse-factory] zypper up wants to remove iscsitarget?

I have a storage server running 12.2 Factory - I was having problems getting the right version of the iscsi_trgt module, so I thought I'd try "zypper up", but it reports it wants to remove iscsitarget? [opensuse-factory] Plymouth update: One step further, but graphical session runs on tty1

Hi Listmates, To give you a little heads up on the plymouth trial and errors. At this moment I managed to get a smooth transistion from plymouth to KDM/GDM. However this has a little side effect, namely that the graphical session is running on TTY1 and no longer on TTY7. GDM works out-of-the-box with this, but KDM would require a small patch. The main question however would be if it would be acceptable to have the change that the graphical session is running on TTY1. Fedora also made this change when they implemented Plymouth, but I am wondering what your opinion is. Another community member (tigerfoot) did a test and found another issue when using encrypted disks. We are trying to sort this one out before preparing an initial package which could be submitted to Factory. [opensuse-factory] Factory-auto thinks the sources were changed

Factory-auto says "the package sources were changed after submissions and the old sources never built. Please resubmit" But the last change to the sources was 3 months ago!
