[opensuse-factory] 11.0 and virtualbox

Hello, after kernel update (to 2.6.25.20-0.1-default) i installed Virtual box (virtualbox-ose-1.5.6-33.1) witch one doesn't work: # /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup Stopping VirtualBox kernel module done Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module, NOT. It has been packaged. done Starting VirtualBox kernel module failed (Kernel module not found) manually modules load just fine, problem is that /etc/init.d/vboxdrv script looks for them in: /lib/modules/`uname -r`/updates but really they are in /lib/modules/`uname -r`/weak-updates Creating symlink between them solves problem. In last used kernel (2.6.25.18-0.2-default) were no "weak-updates" directory (witch caused problem) only "updates". [opensuse-factory] KDE4.2 Final - in anticipation of,

In anticipation of the release of KDE4.2 Final later today I would like to firstly state what my current situation is re having KDE4.2 RC1 on my system, and also ask a couple of questions. I am running oS 11.1 with KDE4.2RC1 - at least this is what the logon screen suggests when queried; but I am wondering if I *am* running all the correct files necessary for 4.2RC1. I am using the following repositories which I *believe* are the correct ones to have used to have 4.2RC1 on the system for testing (but the naming convention used in the repos is a tad confusing): http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Extra-Apps/op… http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openS… http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.… I also have these which are used for the original 4.1 installation: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Community/openSUSE_11.1 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Backports/openSUSE_11.1 My questions are, (1) have I used the correct repositories above (the first 3 in particular) to have 4.2RC1 for testing on my system, and (2) will using these repositories also update my system to KDE4.2 Final when it is released later today? [opensuse-factory] yast, dhcp,dns and dynamic updates with key problems

Hi, I have seen some issues with the DHCP and DNS interface in Yast on 11.1 , I don't have factory running yet so I have not checked if it's like that there also. Is this familiar ? : - DNS updates are not updated automatically from DHCP without config (usability) - The popup boxes in the DHCP config disapears if i do not keep the left mous button down - When enabling Dynamic updates the parameter "ddns-update-style" is set to none. Hi, some thoughts about preload: bug apart (#429732) i think we need something better/smarter; now, too many things are hardcoded. For example default kde them (Aya). If an user changes plasma theme this become completely useless/harmful. Again, from /etc/preload.d/kde: stat /usr/share/kde4/apps/ksplash/Themes/ksplashx- suse/1280x800/background.png stat /usr/share/kde4/apps/ksplash/Themes/ksplashx- suse/1280x800/stripe.png There's not 1280x800 directory here, only 1600x1200. Hi Kay, Do you think there's any point in enabling BSD process accounting for bootchartd? If so, what's my best option for getting such a kernel?
