This is just an enquiry to determine potential interest: we would be able to offer the following services: 1. EPROM burning: burning e.g. Etherboot images into BootROMs for network cards. 2. Network cards complete with Etherboot BootROMs, ready to use with e.g. an LTSP server. Would there be any interest in either of these? We would have to charge a couple of pounds per ROM to cover costs. If there is significant interest (i.e. more than one person says "yes") then we'll add it to our product range. Michael

OK, I now have two replies in the affirmative so we'll throw together some details into a web page and I'll post the link when it's done. Michael

Did you follow up with the URL? I'm sure there are people in my LUG who'd be interested too. -- Frank *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Boroughbridge. Tel: 01423 323019 --------- PGP keyID: 0xC0B341A3 *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* http://www.esperance-linux.co.uk/

Not yet, no - it's not a high priority for us compared to most of the other stuff we have to do in the next few weeks. If anyone wants some BootROMs asap then send me an e-mail and we'll work something out. Michael
Michael,
Yes.
It wouldn't be a huge demand, but I'd be very
interested in a UK supplier for both the bootroms, and
I'd be even more interested in the "plug in and go"
network cards. Could you do this with a cheap card -
how much do you reckon one would be?
Price dependent, I'll certainly have a few off you to
try on my LTSP experiment. I still use floppies at the
moment.
Thanks

I'm estimating somewhere around 17 pounds (plus VAT and delivery) as the cheapest possible "plug and go" card. How does this sound? Michael

Michael, That sounds fine to me mate. Please post the link up when it's a goer. -- Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Everything you'll ever need on one web page from News and Sport to Email and Music Charts http://uk.my.yahoo.com

AFAIK no-one else in the country is providing such a service. IME it's virtually impossible to get much in the way of support from many ethernet card suppliers for ROMS too. -- Mark Evans St. Peter's CofE High School Phone: +44 1392 204764 X109 Fax: +44 1392 204763
