Bill Antonia Beacon Community College Home e-mail bill@beaconhillcott.freeserve.co.uk Work e-mail at@beacon.e-sussex.sch.uk Overlooked a small detail. To make sure every user gets the correct manager from the start, you need to edit /usr/X11R6/bin/vncserver. There is a line which contains twm &, change twm to start the manager you require ie kwm for KDE. When the vnc client is running, type kde (to start the KDE bits and pieces) in the console window. Also, many displays are set to 800x600. This means, with the default settings, you have to scroll around the screen which may be annoying. To fix this, change the $geometry setting to $geometry = "800x600" The only way I have found to kill the vnc server is to do a ps x to find out the Xvnc process number then use kill. Bye Bill
