Hi all Having had a system of sorts running with an internal ISDN card, decided to try the router approach. Am getting confused about what IP addresses to assign where ( at least I think that is the problem) IFCONFIG shows both eth0 (the LAN) and eth1. It shows eth0 as 192.168.1.2 as expected. It shows eth1 as 192.168.1.1 (LAN side of the card?) although I'm not sure about this because of the notes in the INternet Server black book. The router has been set up correctly (I think). I am able to use the analogue phone port in and out. I can ping both cards from the Server or from Samba clients...but can't ping the world....have done route add default gw 192.168.1.1 (is that right?)..........What else ???needs doing.???? Post your partition table and fstab: # /sbin/fdisk -l /dev/hda (probably) and $ cat /etc/fstab -- Frank *-------*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-------* | Boroughbridge | Tel: 01423 323019 | PGP keyID: 0xC0B341A3 | *-------*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-----*-------* http://www.esperance-linux.co.uk/
