I am using 7.1 now and the commands for starting and stopping seem to have changed? I used to be able to do: #/etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start and it would re-load. Now I get an error message. Any help? Paul

What error message? At a wild guess something like "Starting SMB services: failed" If Samba is already running you need something like "/etc/rc.d/init.d/smb restart" or "rcsmb restart". Not that restarting samba is usually necessary, since it will automatically pick up changes. -- Mark Evans St. Peter's CofE High School Phone: +44 1392 204764 X109 Fax: +44 1392 204763
# rcsmb start I think the rationale is that all similar commands now start with rc e.g. rclpd start etc. On Tue, 3 Apr 2001, ptaylor wrote:
