Hi Ive just installed some more mem in our machine that runs Squid. Is there anything I need to do? Someone mentioned having to change the size of the swop partion? Hi Gary, without specifics I can't give a specific response, but the usual rule of thumb is to have twice as much swap space as real memory. However, this is usually for when you are doing an initial install. The amount of work involved in extending the size of your swap partition - resizing other partitions to make space etc - would not be rewarded by any performance improvements. This is currently a bit of a gray area, particularly with the 2.4 kernel (see http://kt.zork.net). If you ask 10 different experts, then you'll get 10 different answers! Personally I'd leave alone. -- Chris Howells E-Mail: chris.h@gmx.co.uk ICQ: 93699029 Web: http://www.chowells.uklinux.net
