You've summed up the problem with this list a treat. Succinct and (forgive the redundancy) to the point!

I wouldn't think _most_ folk have any 'problem' with this list! No-one is here under duress! If the cons outweighed the pros, I'd unsubscribe. Personally, I read the stuff that I can help with, or stuff that helps/interests me, and I'm quite happy to bin the rest. I'm sure I can say with some safety that I'm not the only one who takes just a few seconds to decide if I want to read a posting. When it get's personal, I read the next post. If you're reading this far down this posting, then I'm afraid you are interested in reading a reply to the subject matter - you had to scroll down to get to mine. You know that the thread isn't going to be technical. It's been political (and bitchy - you love it Frank ;)) for some time now. I for one find this list informative, free (yes, as in 'free speech'!), and supportive. -- Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Maybe a news server set up would be better. Part of Usenet or just one of the web based systems? Regards, -- IanL
