my name is Samo and I work like computer administrator in primary school in Dravograd - Slovenia. I just downloaded your product and I will trie it this day. Reason why I wrote to you is, that I also do research about school security information system. I will introduce my plan, how to keep school informations and datas safe, and on the other hand system will be simply to manage and cheap also. At the moment I also use suse with additional programs (samba, squid, ...) and works great. I also use windows 2003, so I can compare. Do you can send me some more details about your version od Suse, what is included inside, can I use it like server,.... I will still research this, but some informations will be helpfull. Do you mybe have some informations what kind of system use other schools, so I can compare. Do you have information how many schools use you system, and how happy are they?
I hope I dont ask too much
Best Regards and thanks in advance Samo Straser

With kind regards, Lars
Hello Samo, Our project, openSUSE-Education is not yet an individual distribution, it is an add on product that brings with it the resources to install a collection of educational use software and school administration tools. We too include Squid and Dan's Guardian and more, as tools to decrease costs. Our goal is to provide age specific desktop configurations as well as several server configurations. Our project is compatible with openSUSE 11 and SLE 10. There are answers that others can give you but I think this is a good start. -- James Tremblay Volunteer openSIS Product Specialist http://www.os4ed.com e-mail james "at" os4ed.com e-mail sleducator "at" opensuse.org CNE 3,4,5 MCSE w2k CLE in training Registered Linux user #440182 http://en.opensuse.org/education
