Greetings to the list. Can I start by saying how much fun I had at BETT!! I can't believe how many stands had sweets, chocolate, crisps, drinks, mints.. etc I'm sure I put on several pounds! Did I mention lollies? Ooo yummy... *coughs* Oh yeah.. I liked the computer stuff too... Anyway... I wanna make a firewall and I'm guessing there might be people on the list who (1) want one too, (2) already have one. I've tried SmoothWall (www.smoothwall.org) with no success.. it's mainly a dialup firewall anyway.. but some claim success with proper networks.. (2 NICS). Anyway SmoothWall doesn't work on the machine I have available.. so I'm going to have to do it a harder way. My proposal to the list is: If anyone else needs a firewall I'll pass on any useful details I come accross, and if anyone else has any or comes accross any would they pass them on to me? First ports of call : http://www.linuxfirewall.org http://www.linux-firewall-tools.com/linux/ --Azrael (The lolly sucker) p.s. You should also try this site: http://lrp.steinkuehler.net/ Good instructions and the image files let you create the disks under Windows. I got the EigerStein version up and running in under 30 minutes. As it only needs a floppy it avoids your problems installing to the hard disk. Simon. p.s Where in the country are you ?

Try http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~dranch/LINUX/index-linux.html#trinityos for details of firewalls and a lot more. We're on Janet and the local boys were most surprised that we didn't ping. They thought we were down! That's what I call nice. This e-mail is intended for the addressee shown. It contains information that is confidential and protected from disclosure.
