Hi,
We have been trying to lose the screensaver from the SuSE graphical log-on.
Currently, the screen blanks between users, and I hear the whingeing cry of
"Siiiir, It duzznt wuuurk," or "Siiir, Suumun's switched it off..." by
which time they've switched the system off - and we have to go through the
disk check before logging on.
Unfortunately, neither I nor my assistant have been able to find how to
disable this screensaver - or even how to change its behaviour.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Paul Ellison
We had a chat about this in the office yesterday, and we haven't got a tested solution, but my colleagues suggest that it might be good to look at using the command xset -dpms in one of the startup files for X. On Thu, 18 May 2000, Edgehill E-Mail Service wrote:

Other things to check are that there's no:
option "power_saver"
line in XF86config, and that none of the startup files run:
setterm -powersave (anything other than off!!)
