[opensuse-conference] Updating the website: Urgent call for help
Jos and Darix just called me me with questions on setting up conference.opensuse.org but I'm unavailable today. There still seems many summit stuff in the website. I see that Henne has started to organize a bit already on #opensuse- project, let's use that to coordinate - please join and help, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger aj@{suse.com,opensuse.org} Twitter/Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn,Jennifer Guild,Felix Imendörffer,HRB16746 (AG Nürnberg) GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-conference+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-conference+owner@opensuse.org
Hello, I started with the conference on a nanoc platform here - https://github.com/shayonj/openSUSE-Conference . And that is what is deployed here http://suse2.shayon.me . Due to personal and health issues I am not active on IRC much. I shall soon be. Bu if anything is needed, I will volunteer for it from the ML. Also, I can deploy when needed. For now, I have cleaned up most of the areas so the site can deploy, few areas are still remaining. I plan to work on them today. /S On May 23, 2012, at 6:44 AM, Andreas Jaeger wrote:

Hi,
so what is the current status? I still see conference.opensuse.org
pointing to our wiki. What is needed to get conference website deployed?
From the testing site I see that we need to get rid off/replace banners
on top. Anything else blocking us? CfP will be open tomorrow, right? At
least indico tels me that...

Exactly. Nobody told Andi that we need graphics for the page. I've pinged him, he said he'll work on it. Everything else is in place. I am about to finish the banners for the website. Shayonj should be getting them later on and then you can add them to the website. After that, I don't think that there is much more for graphics to be done for the page. I asked Eugene Trounev to help with the graphics and I am pretty happy with what he did. I am just finishing the work on them. Let me know if another need for graphic arises. I just uploaded the banners I created along with Eugene Trounev for
the openSUSE conference website. We used more conceptual icons to
identify each section of the website and Eugene tweaked a family cast
shield for the logo.

Fixed bunch of things in the text - links and stuff. Should be quite OK now. I also updated the sponsorship brochure with a bit of text on the co- location and the logo's. The banners on top are very high, looks a bit dis-proportionate to me - but I'm no artist :D Those who are, pls check http://conference.opensuse.org and give feedback (if possible in the form of merge requests?!?) I also turned the logo into an oSC poster: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/poster.png It needs to be done properly, any of our artists up for that?!? :D Cheers, Jos

I have deployed the changes to http://suse2.shayon.me . Everybody can take a look. Although the /cz/ part needs the translated artwork ? And I am assuming a lot of translation is still left there?
Let me do one last round of fixes of text & some of the pages, then, as far as I am concerned, this can and should be deployed.
Fixed bunch of things in the text - links and stuff. Should be quite OK now. I also updated the sponsorship brochure with a bit of text on the co- location and the logo's.
The banners on top are very high, looks a bit dis-proportionate to me - but I'm no artist :D
Those who are, pls check http://conference.opensuse.org and give feedback (if possible in the form of merge requests?!?)
I also turned the logo into an oSC poster: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29347181/poster.png
It needs to be done properly, any of our artists up for that?!? :D
Cheers, Jos
Thanks /S

I have not had a chance. However, I can look into it this weekend. If
someone else would be willing to do something, I can forward the
sources.

We can probably work on that. Can you place in an email what elements and information you want on the poster?
Did you manage to improve the poster I made - it's still the current one on the site and I'm thinking about creating a batch to promote our conf!
Thank you

I just uploaded the banners I created along with Eugene Trounev for the openSUSE conference website. We used more conceptual icons to identify each section of the website and Eugene tweaked a family cast shield for the logo.
You can find the sources and files on the openSUSE artwork git
