[opensuse-conference] Change in schedule for Monday & Tuesday
Hi, After some discussion yesterday, we'd like to do a small change to the schedule to move the openSUSE project meeting to Monday. Here is how the new schedule should look like: Monday ====== Picard 14:30-15:30: openSUSE project meeting 15:30-16:30: Marcus Meissner: openSUSE Maintenance... 16:30-17:30: Robert Schweikert: Something is busted... 17:30-18:00: Michal Hrušecký: Whats new in openSUSE Connect Riker 15:30-16:30: Izabel Valverde: The openSUSE Travel Support Program 16:30-17:30: Kostas Koudaras: Ambassadors 2.0 17:30-18:00: Efstathios Iosifidis: Nonverbal communication at the booth Tuesday ======= Replace "openSUSE project meeting" (10:30-11:30 in Riker) with Robert's talk from Monday "House cleaning is necessary..." Can someone reflect this change on the online schedule? We should also print out some posters we'll put everywhere in the new venue tomorrow. I've fixed these in the Android schedule, so a "Check for Updates" or new downloads will show them. Related, 1.2.0 has a bug where updating the schedule would cause the Maps to not display until the app is restarted. 1.2.1 fixes that and should be on Google Play in an hour or two. -- Matt Barringer, Software Engineer SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, DE GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg)
Checked, with one mistake (?) On 10/21/2012 11:50 AM, Vincent Untz wrote:

OK
Riker 15:30-16:30: Izabel Valverde: The openSUSE Travel Support Program
OK
16:30-17:30: Kostas Koudaras: Ambassadors 2.0

OK
Tuesday ======= Replace "openSUSE project meeting" (10:30-11:30 in Riker) with Robert's talk from Monday "House cleaning is necessary..."
OK

Oops, yeah, the timestamp on that entry was wrong, I've fixed it. Update again and it should be there. -- Matt Barringer, Software Engineer SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, DE GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg)

Still nothing there even after checking for updates: No updates available. What am I doing wrong? Hmm, I don't know. I just did "Check for Updates" from my phone, and the schedule updated as expected, and now I see Marcus' talk listed for 15:30 today. What's really weird is that I don't see anything in the webserver logs that isn't me in the last hour. Are you on wifi or mobile data? If you feel like doing a little bit of debugging: Untar the android-sdk (http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html), set your phone to debug mode, run `./android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/adb logcat` and see if you get any stack traces when checking for updates. -- Matt Barringer, Software Engineer SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, DE GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg)

I was using conference Wifi. Then I switched to mobile data and it started working. At the end of checking for updates, the application has crashed (so I sent a report). Now I can see Marcus' talk there.

Of course,, just to make this clear, the wifi connection worked for other apps.
Then I switched to mobile data and it started working. At the end of checking for updates, the application has crashed (so I sent a report).

Weird, I can't think of why switching the network would matter. There are certainly plenty of bugs for me to fix before next year's conferences :-/ -- Matt Barringer, Software Engineer SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, DE GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg)

Yes, exactly, Matt! :) Thanks for finishing the app in time and for your support. Next time you can ask for help/cooperation/testing a couple of weeks before the conference actually happens. I believe it got some good advertisement this time and I will be better next time.
