[opensuse-buildservice] osc build problem
Hi, I'm doing a local build with: osc co openSUSE:Factory _product:openSUSE-dvd5-dvd-i586 cd openSUSE:Factory/_product:openSUSE-dvd5-dvd-i586 osc build images i586 Aftes some time downloading it stops with the message: Getting buildinfo from server and store to /home/slxrobot/openSUSE:Factory/_product:openSUSE-dvd5-dvd-i586/.osc/_buildinfo-images-i586.xml Getting buildconfig from server and store to /home/slxrobot/openSUSE:Factory/_product:openSUSE-dvd5-dvd-i586/.osc/_buildconfig-images-i586 Updating cache of required packages 13.7% cache miss. 11645/13490 dependencies cached. https://api.opensuse.org/build/openSUSE:Factory/standard/i586/texlive-bin/te... Um. The file is there, but 0-length.
Any ideas what is wrong? Restart osc does not help, which usually does. Restarting osc only helps, if you hit a bad mirror, or a network issue. In this case the file is not offered at all.

Where do you see 0 bytes? I see <binary filename="texlive-bin-2009-12.4.src.rpm" size="970515792" mtime="1276263203" /> And that's where the problem is: texlive-bin is just too large for our proxy it seems ;( Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

The streaming of binary data was broken in our source server (which caused also our OOM problems). This is fixed now, so you should be able to receive this big file again. bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Well I have always plead for big packages to split up when technically possible, but nooo.. Pikachu knows everything. :-) (bnc#437141) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

I can't see any relation between the size of the src.rpm and your bug. You really need to watch your language. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

AFM are Adobe Font Metrics and TFM are TeX Font Metrics _for using_ Type1 fonts. The former are needed for PS and PDF output (AFAIR) and the latter are needed by (pdf)TeX. And cm-super _are_ Postscript Type1 fonts and _not_ bitmap fonts. If they look bad, do you have the AFM installed? So, you'd need to package each fonts/type1 subtree with the corresponding fonts/afm and fonts/tfm subtrees, along with the matching Tex / LaTeX / dvips / ... map files, style files etc. And BTW: cm/ec fonts are not optimized for the screen! They're optimized for printing. Try printing such a "bad looking" pdf. And compare that with a print using a optimized-for-screen font like Verdana, esp. when using larger and smaller sizes, say 6 to 24 pt sizes.
