[opensuse-buildservice] How to install the Build Service on a local server?
Hello, I'm searching for some information to install the Build Service on a local server. We want to do some tests with it, as we're planning to use it as our own buildtool. I have found the source code, but not a way to install it. According to kblin: [08:55] <kblin> yes, there should be instructions for that on the wiki somewhere Unfortunately, I can't find that specific Wiki page ... :-( ... Also Google doesn't provide me extra information. Can somebody give me a tip where to find the information to install it? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

Just install the RPMs. There is a readme within the RPMs. Robert -- Robert Schiele Dipl.-Wirtsch.informatiker mailto:rschiele@gmail.com "Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur."

kblin provided me (after I sent to the mailing list) this link: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-buildservice/2007-01/msg00125.html I'm installing it right now, but the dependencies I have is really a mess :-( ... I've tried to install OBS on FC6, but really ... it's impossible. I'm stuck with the ruby-fcgi RPM I need to install ... You can only find the tarball to install it, but not the RPM ... Well, the backend just needs perl ;-) Cheers, Michael. -- Michael Schroeder mls@suse.de SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF Markus Rex, HRB 16746 AG Nuernberg main(_){while(_=~getchar())putchar(~_-1/(~(_|32)/13*2-11)*13);} --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

The backend is indeed running (for a long time now), but the frontend ... pff :-). I don't blame you guys, I really blame that stupid distro Fedora. You could try running a svn checkout of frontend/webclient. Do 'svn co https://forgesvn1.novell.com/svn/opensuse/trunk/buildservice' and follow the directions in src/README.devel. I didn't look at the file for quite some time now, but most of it should still be correct. This way you can run the frontend using the builtin webrick server instead of lighty/fcgi which is way slower but should work without any additional dependencies. Of course, the optimal solution would be to get ruby-fcgi to work with Fedora Core 6.
