not sure what you mean, the madness I speak about is the decision of debian to duplicate all library packages on all architecture to solve the 2038 year problem on 32bit systems. IMHO not really needed, but done anyway. That means you always need to select which package to use (at build time and install time)

it exists now, but will need most likely more fine tuning.

The debian t64 lib madness can one drive crazy in the dependency handling ....
