Build Service cut over 2023-08-24 16:00 UTC
Hi All,
TL;DR: starting 2023-08-24 16:00 UTC the buildservice instances will be
down for moving to a new data center. We will announce when they are
back up.
The long version:
The migration to the new data center will start Thursday 2023-08-24 at
16:00 UTC with a shutdown of the all service.
This will be followed by the sync of the remaining file changes to the
new data center. On Friday morning we will start with bringing up
services again.
As soon as all services are up and running again we will inform you.
If you have any questions please contactbuildservice@lists.opensuse.org
Thanks and sorry for any inconveniences,
Your BuildOPS-Team

First of all, I wish you and the team all the very best with the movement! This email could not have come at a more perfect time! Even my team needs to move data center(s) in the coming weeks, including my ~15 year old private OBS instance. If you don't mind me asking, would it be possible to share a few technical details on how you are approaching this movement? Mostly from the Operations front. If you already have the Day-1, Day0, and Day1 tasks already listed down somewhere, I would really appreciate if you could point me to that. Of course, our private OBS is not as vast and large as yours, but it is still business critical. My main concern is how to verify the databits. Regards, Srinidhi.
