[opensuse-buildservice] Ajax search easy to 'dead' on 'package_filter'
hi, everybody May be there are many people have found that Ajax apply on serach easy to 'dead' all time, when a project have many (eg, 1000) packages. I don't known javascript, but i'm sure the following code of html page is apply for search. <div id="search_results"> <script language="javascript"> new Ajax.Updater('search_results', '/project/search_package?project=GTES%3A11%3AU5', {asynchronous:true, evalScripts:true, onComplete:function(request){Element.hide('spinner')}, onLoading:function(request){Element.show('spinner')}, parameters:'searchtext='}) </script> </div> Does any idea to solve it ? Thanks, all ---- Jian Lee [ http://jianlee.ylinux.org ] -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org

This is what version? 1.7 has no ajax for package filtering. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
Hi, Stephan
I'm useing 1.6 and 1.7 on my localhost, but this problem is so popular
when i connect build.opensuse.org, and filter packages at project home
page.
Did any one found that? or It's just because the network speed ?
thank you

I still have no idea what page you're talking about. Please provide a full URL to a project home page on build.o.o and explain what you're doing. Hi, Stephan
My Step:
1. open
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=openSUSE%3AFactory
2. input 'kernel' in the input frame of filter at Packages colume of
tables
then always my firefox seems to go to dead, and popup a window some
times, about:
The popup window says, script of
"https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=openSUSE%3AFactory"
have many time to execute, did you want to disable it ?
Thanks,
Stephan Kulow

Ah, yes - factory has too many packages for your poor firefox. But you talked about ajax search on home project. This is neither your home project nor ajax. Sorry for the confusion. ;-), you are so active.
In the true world, many main project have more than 1000 packages, this
method of search is not a good idea.
and the method of list all packages in one page is not a good idea to.
It would be useful when list the top 10 packages which changed recently.
thanks, everyone.

I think he's talking about the package filter, it freezes my firefox as well, don't know if it's the page or firefox, I use the built in search. Speaking of which, the Server Status Page is the first and foremost one that gets "there's a runaway script". -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-buildservice+help@opensuse.org
Yes, It would freezes any firefox when the number of packages are too
big. ;-) but useful and kindly when the number is smaller.
