[Bug 648925] New: PulseAudio flat volume cut-off for some audio codecs
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=648925 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=648925#c0 Summary: PulseAudio flat volume cut-off for some audio codecs Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: tiwai@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The recent version of PulseAudio supports the flat-volume control. This doesn't work in the very low volume in cases: - The volume zero also mutes the volume (e.g. AC97) - The volume zero mutes and doesn't tell TLV properly (e.g. IDT/STAC HD-audio) The former is because alsa-lib doesn't expose the mute as the dB-volume range. The upstream already has a fix for it. The latter needs the fixes in the HD-audio driver code in addition. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
