[Bug 856931] New: icewm-default: title bar broken, windows are not moveable
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856931 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856931#c0 Summary: icewm-default: title bar broken, windows are not moveable Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Yarny@public-files.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 The desktop environment provided by the package icewm-default draws regular window decoration (borders, buttons...) but fails to draw the window title. The rectangle which is supposed to contain the title bar is completely transparent. Moreover, one can click "through" this hole and the clicks are actually recognized by whatever is behind. Consequently, windows cannot be moved by dragging the title. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make sure icewm-default is installed 2. Login with windowmanager icewm 3. Open a terminal 4. Try to drag it Apparently, only the default theme "icedesert" and the "Infadel2" themes are affected. icewm-lite does not show the bug with any theme. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

How will this be solved for Factory or upstream?
I opened upstream bug about the inconsistent X server behavior, so far without any reaction: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75720 But the current state may be actually considered correct, so I also filed bug against gdk-pixbuf: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=727015 (And even if it gets changed in X server, the current method is just so ugly it should be changed.) But it's such a corner case that it may take a while to get fixed in any of those. So the workaround (that doesn't have any drawbacks by the way) can be applied to Factory meanwhile. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
