Came up perfect, landed in gnome, Closed the 'greeter' simply tried to open 'Linux's home' folder: ->> All icons from the desktop disappear, a folder pops up, closes, pops up again closes again... and so on... the only thing helpig now is killing X. I remarked the same (on the same notebook) on the installed system on the disk after factroy upgrades. Not sure what log files or whatever I can provide for you to make this one easier to spot.
