Although removing a pattern is not implemented, it seems that removing 'pattern-openSUSE-foo' package marks pattern as not installed. Also found that 'zypper in -t pattern foo' doesn't seem to install all recommended packages. Just pattern-openSUSE-foo... Also adding '--recommends' did not help. This was after playing a bit with the yast2/zypper though.
