I wouldn't care. What's really in the way though, is the file conflict. So yes, it will work. I can't belive that this is a "bug" Exim postfix and sendmail are 3 different programs to do the same work on different ways. Everybody have to decide which one he want to use:-) Neither postfix nor sendmail contains datas only congfigurations. If you want to migrate from sendmail to postfix means: rpm -e sendmail rpm -i postfix and confiugure postfix.
