The updater by default will only display updates. You can right click -> configure -> show available upgrades if you want to see those too. Traditionally only updates are notified. In 10.1 and 10.2(with zmd) the upgrades were shown as well which was really a bug. zypper will behave the same, "zypper up" will only apply patches. "zypper up -t package" will do upgrades too. When there is an update in the Updates repo, it changes. THEN I can see additional add-on repo updates in the 2nd tab. But unless there are updates available from the normal update repo, the icon stays "normal" I CAN, however, click on the icon (just tested it now) and it will bring up the update notification, where I can select the 2nd tab and see what upgrades are there from the other repos. But the icon stays "normal". Just now, "zypper update" says nothing to do. "zypper update -t package" shows and is installing updates from packman to libffmpeg0 and ffmpeg. We want to encourage the user to install available patches. But we don't want to demand to update every package (for example from factory) if a later version is available. Therefore the updater's icon is green if only package updates are available. I close this bug as 'invalid' because the updater behaves like expected.
