Nevertheless this should be mentioned in the NickName so that the user is informed. Klaus, could you add a "black and white only" info to the NickName in all gutenprint/stp-hp-clj_*.ppd.gz files? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Johannes, is this acceptable, or will this break some YaST magic? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220079 jsmeix@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEEDINFO |ASSIGNED Info Provider|jsmeix@novell.com | ------- Comment #4 from jsmeix@novell.com 2006-11-15 01:22 MST ------- Change ModelName would violate the PPD specification and it may break that YaST (or whatever othe tool) finds all matching PPDs for a particular model. Add it to ShortNickName would often violate the PPD specification because the length of the string value is limited to 31 or fewer characters and at the moment the longest ShortNickName in those PPDs is "HP Color LaserJet 8550GN" (24 characters). Only NickName it the right entry because only NickName is visible in any case (i.e. by any printer config tool) to the user who set up a printer, see the Adobe PPD spec. regarding "NickName": ---------------------------------------------------------------------- .. used primarily at the user interface level when selecting a device or to distinguish between two otherwise indistinguishable devices ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
