Christian (T.), I understand the root cause for this issue but I'm not yet sure how we'll fix this. Can you please confirm that 'asus-laptop' is loaded (lsmod |grep asus) on OS11.0?
lsmod | grep asus asus_laptop 22776 0 led_class 9476 1 asus_laptop And can you please confirm that the ACPI events for the
hotkeys will no longer be reported when you unload this module?
This is also correct. acpi_listen shows no events after the asus_laptop module is unloaded. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Pre 11.0:
* The Samsung P35 used to be supported by the ASUS ACPI module (ACPI events) * We had the acpi -> uinput helper shipping with hotkey-setup before
Correct.
11.0/Post 11.0:
* The Samsung P35 is no longer supported by the ASUS ACPI module (no ACPI events)
Not correct. acpi_listen shows the hotkey events. (What regressed in the ASUS ACPI module is that it does not longer control the brightness, but this was already the case with 10.3.)
* We don't have the helper anymore but that wouldn't help either as ASUS ACPI doesn't support the P35 anymore?
Wrong. Installing the old hotkey-setup package from packman results in working hotkeys for volume up/down and mute. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So, didn't the ASUS module switch to issue input events? I think we've converted all laptop drivers to do so?
I do not know, sorry. (In fact I do not even know what 'issue input events' are.) I only know that the pressing the hotkeys is shown with 'acpi_listen' in both 10.3 and 11.0, but 'lshal -m' only shows events in 10.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
