So the session information reported by mediainfo looks sensible. Could you perhaps try changing #undef UDFFS_DEBUG in fs/udf/udfdecl.h to #define UDFFS_DEBUG recompile UDF, load the new module and try mounting the BD again? It should dump more information about what UDF is trying to do to mount the volume and on what sectors it's working... Anyway, to make my yesterday's long story short, the problem is in the commands you run. You have to tell growisofs that you are creating a multisession media (via -M option). Otherwise block numbers inside UDF metadata mismatches with the real block numbers on the media and that's why kernel cannot find the filesystem. So that leaves us with the only real problem being that 3.1 kernel from 12.1 has problems with detection of number of recorded blocks. First -M requires /dev/sr1, second we verisimilarely need to use blank=deformat_sequential[_quickest] to start a new DVD/BD. Second, the thing about the 'burn-multisession: command line' is that an empty first session does not seem to be possible even for non-udf disks. There are three problems (neither of which is in the kernel BTW). One problem is that cdrskin does not quite work when output is a regular file and it should create multisession media. It just starts writing next session from the beginning instead from the end of the previous session in the file. This is relatively easy to overcome by creating the second session in a new file and then joining them manually. Another fact is that you have to tell the kernel where the last session starts by 'session=<number>' when you use regular file instead of proper medium. That's again easily done. Finally there appears to be a problem in genisoimage. From looking into the source it seems in generates iso9660 filesystem for merged directory hierarchy for the second session. Then from that hierarchy UDF filesystem is generated. For some reason the file entries from the first session are seen as having length 0 and that is copied into UDF filesystem. So they simply appear as zero length files. So that's a bug in genisoimage AFAICT.
