[Bug 469243] New: X green(!) pixel flicker with Intel DQ45EK and DG45FC boards
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=469243 Summary: X green(!) pixel flicker with Intel DQ45EK and DG45FC boards Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: hpj@urpla.net QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer Created an attachment (id=267519) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=267519) xorg.conf Hi, I suffer from green pixel flicker with the new Intel DQ45EK and DG45FC, but will report the details of the former system, as I stored the other for later investigation (I'm space and time contrained at the moment, catched the flu, etc.., please bear with me). While at it, I queried about the report procedure, and found this: http://de.opensuse.org/Fehler:X Please check the: "Was sollte dem Fehlerbericht beigelegt werden" section. Something wrong there went ;-) The symptoms are flickering wrong colored pixels of certain ranges, thus the (KDE4) kdm and desktop look pretty strange: along the green background pattern, there are flickering zones (see attached pictures). The problem happens with the distributed packages as long as with http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.1/. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

BTW, here is the original: http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:X It has not been messed up (yet?), so it's still useful. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

and when switching screens, funny colors appear (e.g. during X startup or shutdown, screenshot attached).
Known (minor) issue. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19579 I'll try to reproduce the initial pixel flicker issue using the HDMI output. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This is something only the upstream developers can resolve. Sorry for the standard text. Makes things easier for us.
--- I'm afraid such driver issues need to be addressed by Intel's Linux driver development team. Thus I would like to ask you to report this issue upstream on bugs.freedesktop.org according to http://intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html and add me to Cc (sndirsch@suse.de). You'll need to register for an account on bugs.freedesktop.org first, in case you don't have one yet. Thanks. --- -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
