http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=493214 User jreuter@novell.com added comment http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=493214#c1 Summary: eth turned off on suspend despite wol being enabled Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jreuter@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Even though I enabled Wake on LAN (WOL) on eth0, the atl1e driver would switch off the transceiver on suspend to RAM. After some investigation I found that the atl1e driver has the "wakeup" flag for power management set to "disabled", regardless what I set with ethtool: iktis:~ # uname -a Linux iktis 2.6.27.19-3.2-default #1 SMP 2009-02-25 15:40:44 +0100 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux iktis:~ # cat /sys/class/net/eth0/device/power/wakeup disabled iktis:~ # ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: [..] Supports Wake-on: pg Wake-on: g [..] iktis:~ # WOL works just fine if I set /sys/class/net/eth0/device/power/wakeup to "enabled". It is enabled on my work station in the office with a different network card and driver, though. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
