http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=612000 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=612000#c0 Summary: Three tools for scanner in default KDE desktop. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: EagleScreen@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; ca; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100513 SUSE/3.6.4-1.17 Firefox/3.6.4 OpenSuse KDE desktop comes with three tools for scanner by default: xsane, skanlite and kipi-plugins-acquireimage. What is the sense about having three tools for the same function? OpenSuse tries to install just one application per function by default: One application for videos (kaffeine). One application for music (Amarok). One application for CD burning (K3b). Why not also one application for scanner? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install OpenSuse KDE. 2. Check Applications -> Graphics menu. 3. You find multiple tools for the same thing: scanner. Actual Results: Three applications for scanner are installed by default. Expected Results: Only one application should be installed by default. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
