https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=333776 Summary: Fn-F7 will not swap monitor Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 3rd Party Driver AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fred.blaise@gmail.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: --- Lenovo T60 with ati X1300, running fglrx 8.41.7...... x11-video-fglrxG01-8.41.7-5.1 ati-fglrxG01-kmp-default-8.41.7_2.6.22.5_30-1.1 When I connect my laptop to an external monitor, A first Fn-F7 key press will switch to mode laptop monitor + ext. screen, and another should switch to external screen only (with higher resolution). I cannot switch to external screen only, even though the event get caught. I cannot revert either to laptop monitor only. I am stuck with the 2 monitors on. /var/log/messages shows that the event gets caught, however: Oct 15 09:23:04 fredb-opensuse powersaved[3587]: WARNING (continueEvent:248) Could not execute program /usr/lib/powersave/scripts for event other: No such file or directory Oct 15 09:23:04 fredb-opensuse logger: thinkpad_acpi_events Custom event script for ThinkPad thinkpad_acpi driver Oct 15 09:23:04 fredb-opensuse logger: thinkpad_acpi_events Fn+F7 hotkey: keycode 128 serial 4103. action: swap monitors *sigh*, why don't i have an nvidia in there... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

updated from 10.2 final to 10.3 final.
--> cat /etc/acpi/events/acpid_thinkpad_hotkeys # dockutils # # Pass over all ibm_acpi events to the dockhandler to get dock/undock # requests
event=ibm/.* action=/usr/lib/hotkey-setup/thinkpad_hotkey_handler "%e"
Ok, so you should get another message in /var/log/messages about the execution of this handler. What it basically does is $ echo video_switch > /proc/acpi/ibm/video If that doesn't work manually, we cannot do much about it. Right, Stefan?
--> grep EVENT_OTHER /etc/powersave/events EVENT_OTHER="hotkey_handler"
Ok, this variable was not updated as it should. So there is this warning in message. But you can savely ignore it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
