[Bug 709707] New: Kernel 3.0.0 Wacom serial port sends ghost events (clicks, jumps, ...)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=709707 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=709707#c0 Summary: Kernel 3.0.0 Wacom serial port sends ghost events (clicks, jumps, ...) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Factory Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: christoph@maxiom.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux) KHTML/4.7.40 (like Gecko) Konqueror/4.7 Today I updated to Tumbleweed repository, and after reboot, I immediately noticed that the stylus (internal Tablet PC Wacom serial) regularily sends ghosts events, i.e. false clicks, pointer moves to random positions etc. Since the change involved many package upgrades, I only reverted the kernel back to openSUSE 11.4/Updates default (2.6.37.6-0.5-desktop), and the issue was gone. To be sure, I reverted the complete Tumbleweed update, and only updated kernel to 3.0.0-39.1 from Tumbleweed, and the issue resurfaced, so the kernel change was indeed the offender. Machine is a FSC Stylistic ST5112. I can test kernel versions in between, if you point me to the RPM :) Parts of /etc/Xorg.0.log from 2.6.37.6 kernel: [ 23.820] (II) config/udev: Adding input device Serial Wacom Tablet (/dev/ttyS4) [ 23.820] (**) Serial Wacom Tablet: Applying InputClass "Wacom serial class" [ 23.820] (**) Serial Wacom Tablet: Applying InputClass "Wacom serial class" [ 23.820] (II) LoadModule: "wacom" [ 23.822] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/wacom_drv.so [ 23.921] (II) Module wacom: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 23.921] compiled for 1.9.3, module version = 0.11.1 [ 23.921] Module class: X.Org XInput Driver [ 23.921] ABI class: X.Org XInput driver, version 11.0 [ 23.921] (**) Serial Wacom Tablet: always reports core events [ 23.921] (**) Option "Device" "/dev/ttyS4" [ 23.922] (**) Option "StopBits" "1" [ 23.922] (**) Option "DataBits" "8" [ 23.922] (**) Option "Parity" "None" [ 23.922] (**) Option "Vmin" "1" [ 23.922] (**) Option "Vtime" "10" [ 23.922] (**) Option "FlowControl" "Xoff" [ 23.922] (II) Serial Wacom Tablet: type not specified, assuming 'stylus'. With 3.1.0 rc7 from 12.1 beta1 the bug is back.
I suppose the bug still persists. Even in 3.3: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
