From your provided info, fan control related ACPI objects such as thermal zone and fan power resource is missing. It looks to me that fan speed or on/off control is not governed by ACPI firmware.
To me one other possible cause is the lm_sensors if your machines has sensors installed. It would regulate your fan speed as well. Try the command below and see if it outputs anything, and paste it to bugzilla for reference. $ grep . /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon*/device/* Some nodes that is relevant to fan, according to [1] - pwm[1-*]: Used to control fan speed - pwm[1-*]_enable: fan control method. 0 - no control (full speed), 1 - manual, 2 auto. - fan[1-*]_input: Show fan speed (in Revolution Per Minute) [1] http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/hwmon/sysfs-interface You could also try "sensors" package and see if the fancontrol within it works for you. I think google it has some useful instructions on how to do it. :) Please let us know your result. Thanks. :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
