https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=757909 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=757909#c0 Summary: rpcbind: Can't handle systemd passing dual-mode sockets Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jeffm@suse.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Development Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=486816) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=486816) [PATCH] socket-activation: Fix rpcbind.service to use separate sockets systemd will, by default, pass a socket that provides both IPv4 and IPv6 services. RPC netconfig requires that sockets be either IPv4 or IPv6. That results in: Apr 18 17:33:13 jetfire rpcbind: cannot bind * on udp: Address already in use Apr 18 17:33:13 jetfire rpcbind: cannot bind tcp: Address already in use ... when it tries to register the IPv4 socket after failing to find it while looking it up. This results, predictably, in ypbind not working. The solution is twofold: 1) Update rpcbind.socket to define separate sockets for ipv4 and ipv6 and to only bind the ipv6 socket to ipv6 2) Issue a warning to the user indicating that this has occured -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
