180 DPI 12.1/KDE3 screenshot
This is of a desktop configured for an _extremely_ low vision user who
frequents the opensuse mailing list, who brought his system to me for 12.1
installation. GTK/Gnome apps simply cannot be made to automatically obey KDE
font settings, and least not by any method we have been able to discover as
yet.
It looks like YaST2 modules are using the same fonts as GTK apps, while YaST2
control center is obeying KDE, and even though kcmgtk is set to use KDE fonts,
they obviously don't, at least not as to sizes in Gimp or Firefox. The
~/.config/Trolltech.conf file is set to size 14 fonts. (How SMplayer decided to
use bigger fonts than anything else I have no idea.)
BTW, 180 DPI (15/8*96=12*15) on the KDE desktop is achieved via DisplaySize in
50-monitor.conf, which a Gnome session disregards, instead forcing 96 DPI, with
no way to reach 180 via gnome-tweak-tool.
