[Bug 326339] New: Solving for pattern dependencies is unstable
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=326339 Summary: Solving for pattern dependencies is unstable Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp AssignedTo: kkaempf@novell.com ReportedBy: rguenther@novell.com QAContact: kkaempf@novell.com Found By: --- Updating from 10.2 to 10.3 based on selected patterns. It looks like solving for patterns (that is, select patterns based on the solver run) is unstable. That means, if you select/deselect patterns in the pattern dialog (which solves after each change), click apply, then the summary screen for updating includes a lot(!) of patterns that were not selected in the pattern dialog. If you go back to the pattern dialog and try to fix this the situation seems to become worse each time until you start to set patterns to taboo. Proposed solution(s): a) Fix the solver to produce the same result with each run b) Show the correct solution in the patterns dialog in the first place c) Do not run the solver again after clicking apply -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
