Yes, that should be done.
Michl, please elaborate what "that" is. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

- There is no place in the registration module where it points to any registration url or support eMail address. All information displayed in the details window or manual interactive popup are texts from the registration server (currently Novell NCC). Do you plan to provide an own registration server? Yes, and we'd like to adopt this server to the standard YaST way
- There is another YaST module called yast2-support which has "novell.com" URLs hardcoded. Do you mean to change them? Adding Michal Zugec to CC:.
Currently I have no idea what to change in the yast2-registration module. OK, if you are located in Nuremberg I can visit you directly an we can go through. If you don't like this way, we just need to change any novell url to open-slx and I need to know what you changed to get the right
Very good remark. Yes support will be handled by open-slx gmbh the url will be www.open-slx.com email: support@open-slx.com Is there a special need for a url containing a support form? things done at open-slx -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Yes, registration against open-slx.com instead of NCC
If "registration" means "run the yast2 registration module" then please make sure that the correct registration server address gets written to /etc/suseRegister.conf which is part of the "suseRegister" package maintained by Michael Calmer; adding him to CC.
Yes, changing the hard coded YaST module into open-slx.com
You mean, change the URLs in the yast2 support module, right? Still I can not find, what needs to be changed in the registration module. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This could be done using an SMT server. Don't know what customizations our NCC has for openSUSE.
Currently I have no idea what to change in the yast2-registration module.
OK, if you are located in Nuremberg I can visit you directly an we can go through.
Yes I am located in Nürnberg, you can come by and visit me. But as I said, there are no URLs in the registration itself hardcoded. It's just some log messages of currently inactive code that contains the string "novell.com".
... we just need to change any novell url to open-slx and I need to know what you changed to get the right things done at open-slx
I have no idea what I should change. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So we need explore the customisations, that are used by NCC, because the module needs to parse the information somehow. Maybe there is a description what the module does itself.
The registration module is a GUI workflow pendant of the script 'suse_register'. All they both do is to display the output of the communication with the registration server (NCC or SMT) so users can interact with it.
So I understand the suseRegister.conf needs to be adopted to the new site.
Right.
And we need to get more informations about the SMT Server. Who does this.
SMT is an AddOn-Product for SLES (available for SLE10 and SLE11). See as well: http://www.novell.com/de-de/linux/smt/ You can download it from here: http://download.novell.com/index.jsp?product_id=&search=Search&families=&date_range=&keywords=subscription+management+tool&sort_by=&results_per_page=&x=20&y=10 Please note! The CA certificate that singned the server certificate of your SMT server needs to be part of the distribution. You can circumvent this by using a certificate that was singned by one of the big trust companies, whose CA is already trusted by openSUSE. Btw. I found two "Novell" strings (not URLs) in the help texts of the registration. I could change them, but it would require them to be retranslated. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
