https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=450230 Summary: Radeon mobility 9600, no X since rc1 Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: Manfred.Tremmel@iiv.de QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer I've updated from last beta to rc1 (exactly, I've installed with mini iso and factory repository and made a "zypper dup" now) and after a Reboot X doesn't start anymore. I've tried to reconfigure X using "sax2 -r", but the same, sax can't start X. The machine is my Asus M6842NW Notebook with Pentium M (so it's the i586 version installed) with ATI Radeon mobility 9600. I've attached /etc/X11/xorg.conf, /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /var/log/SaX.log. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Can you post the output of rpm -q --changelog xorg-x11-driver-video | head -10
I'm not the original reporter (but the one of bug 450388), but I think the following should be suffice the NEEDINFO: * Fr Nov 21 2008 sndirsch@suse.de - xf86-video-mga-ba37697.diff * Fixed PLL m,n,p selection for G200eW to respect byte granularity. * Renamed G200 eW Winbond ID string to Nuvoton. * Added EV suffix to G200 Maxim. * Blocked double scan mode for G200 eW. * Fixed memory bandwidth limitation for G200eW to 318.77 Mhz. * Added a workaround (blit 1x1 with rop=xor) to fix the black screen problem for G200eW. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

No - actually I have not written that I have used RC1, I wrote (in my bug report) that I used Factory as of yesterday. The original reporter of this bug report wrote: "I've updated from last beta to rc1 (exactly, I've installed with mini iso and factory repository and made a "zypper dup" now)" If the mini iso uses the Factory tree, it might also have picked up an older version. As far as I can see remotely, with openSUSE Factory of today, X11 works again. Manfred Tremmel: Can you update and also check whether it works now? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
