My expectation is that the theming was upgraded after kernel, mkinitrd etc. and therefore there was no reason to regenerate initrd after the theme was upgraded. Jiri, If I remmenber it rightly, I've done the same remark, when I saw the kernel & grub upgrade before the bootslapsh and so, the old one was used after the install.
