[Bug 987638] New: unable to lock screen in gnome
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=987638 Bug ID: 987638 Summary: unable to lock screen in gnome Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: chrismaes87@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I'm unable to lock my screen. I tried changing the shortcut (does not work, while all other shortcuts work). I also activated "automatic screen lock" after 30 seconds; but my screen never gets locked. I've got no idea where to look for error messages... I'd happily provide debug info if necessary. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

no, for the moment I am using sddm; but I didn't really choose that actively. I installed opensuse leap with kde; but got problems with flickering; and installed gnome afterwards. I guess that installation chose sddm by default. I have many possible displaymanagers available; which ones would you recommend I try? What influence would that have on my work?
Possible Values: kdm, xdm, gdm, wdm, entrance, console, lightdm, sddm or any value
gnome screen locking only works if you login using gdm. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
