[Bug 1035976] New: Krusader - Request for current version 2.6.0 also under Leap 42.2
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1035976 Bug ID: 1035976 Summary: Krusader - Request for current version 2.6.0 also under Leap 42.2 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Applications Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: ludger.ricken@thyssenkrupp.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- This is a request for making Krusader - the best OFM in the Linux world following TotalCommander on Windows - available in its current version 2.6.0 also for openSUSE Leap 42.2. Version 2.5.0 comes "out of the box", and version 2.6.0 gives a good deal of bug fixes over 2.5.0, which was the first stab at Krusader under KDE 5 after a lengthy development. I saw that Krusader 2.6.0 had "failed" on the Open Build Service, maintainer wolfi323 (Wolfgang Bauer). Would be great to check and fix... Plus: Distributing 2.6.0 widely would be a major step in getting rid of GUI apps running as root... Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

JFYI: We (I) did backport some to 2.5.0 (and even released two official updates).

Right, it doesn't build for 42.2 (with gcc 4.8), and I am of course aware of this. And that's actually the reason why I haven't submitted 2.6.0 to KDE:Extra yet either... It's an upstream "problem" btw, and I had no time to look at it yet.
Plus: Distributing 2.6.0 widely would be a major step in getting rid of GUI apps running as root...
And why that? I'm confused. I'd like to be clear here: I will of course submit 2.6.0 to KDE:Extra (and Leap 42.3 if I manage to fix the build problem). But we don't do version upgrades for released openSUSE distributions (i.e. 42.2) normally, except if there are very good reasons. Also, in this case I'm afraid that (some) people will even complain if there is no "Krusader - Root mode" application menu entry any more after an official bugfix update. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
