[Bug 585617] New: 11.3M3 : no keyboard or mouse after 11.1 to 11.3 upgrade
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=585617 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=585617#c0 Summary: 11.3M3 : no keyboard or mouse after 11.1 to 11.3 upgrade Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: richard.coe@med.ge.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.18) Gecko/2010020400 SUSE/3.0.18-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.18 I had a 11.1 system which I am testing upgrades to 11.3. I did not read the wiki before performing upgrade. I booted from the DVD and selected 'Upgrade system' instead of install. The system installed and rebooted. After reboot, Xorg is running, but the keyboard and mouse are dead. Capslock on the keyboard does not work. Inserting a USB keyboard does not work. I rebooted. During booting the capslock key on keyboard toggles the capslock light. Once Xorg and login manager start, the keyboard is dead. I rebooted and started system in single user. I changed the boot level to 3 from 5. When system starts at level 3, I can login. starting sax2 to configure X makes the keyboard fail. Must reboot. I removed existing xorg.conf file, and try sax2 again. When Xorg starts the keyboard dies again. might be bug 551929
Could be.
try uncommenting in /etc/X11/xorg.conf option "AutoAddDevices" "off"
Respectively add it (as workaround) to ServerFlags section in your xorg.conf. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
