[Bug 370592] New: Network won't start in the host when using Xen kernel
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=370592 Summary: Network won't start in the host when using Xen kernel Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: federico@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development I have my networking configured to use NetworkManger, and a single Ethernet interface. Under the default kernel, all works well. When I boot with the Xen kernel, my network card doesn't get configured. I then start up the "Network card" module in YaST2, and it tells me: A Xen network bridge was detected. Due to the renaming of network interfaces by the bridge script, network interfaces shouldnot be configured or restarted. See /usr/share/doc/packages/xen/README.SuSE [Continue] [Cancel] Before I hit any of the dialog's buttons, my networking starts up automatically and everything works fine after that. So, for some reason, booting under the Xen kernel doesn't let NetworkManager configure my interfaces until I start up YaST's network card module. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
