[Bug 309800] New: Provide OEM-like image for USB deployment
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309800 Summary: Provide OEM-like image for USB deployment Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: System Imaging AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: jcbornschlegel@novell.com QAContact: adrian@novell.com Found By: --- With the current state of kiwi (1.64) a USB device is needed to create a usbboot image. To make an image file which can be deployed using dd, one has to dump from the stick after creation. Due to different device sizes it can happen that certain images are too large for certain sticks and deployment doesn't work. As a workaround, the stick can be mounted, its third partition resized and dd can be used with count=<numsec>, but then the end user has to take care of his file system and partition sizes. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
