The operating system works well. But, the start of some programs, for example Mozilla Firefox, takes a long time. There is about 5 seconds without activity. Neither on the SSD or CPU. More time is used at starting the midnight commander. The midnight commander consumes about half a minute until it is started. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSuSE factory :) 2. Install midnight commander and start it 3. Actual Results: Midnight commander consumes a lot of time until it is started Expected Results: Midnight commander has to be started in less than 2 seconds My new computer: - ASUS mainboard F2A85-M with chipset A85 - AMD A10-5700 - 4GB RAM - Intel SSD 520 series with 120GB Partitioning: - 100MB for /boot/efi - 15GB for / - rest for /home - no swap If you need more informations, don't hesitate to contact me. From a first 'idea', I doubt this to be a GNOME issue, thus moving to the 'base system component' (midnight command really does not make use of gnome infra, and indeed should fire up instantly)..
